When owners Qui Tran and Marie-Anne Velasco decided to open Nudo House, they were on a mission to introduce all of St. Louis to the best noodle house cuisine ever. They honed their craft by studying other places across the country, from Los Angeles to New York, where they studied with famous chefs, such as the renowned top ramen chef, Shigetoshi Nakamura, from Japan. The result is perfectly prepared savory noodle dishes that make you feel like you just time-traveled to Eastern Asia. There’s no place quite like it anywhere around St. Louis, so give the Nudo House a try. You’ll be hooked on noodles forever.
It might be a funny name, but one visit to the restaurant and you’ll understand why they named it that. Polite Society makes you feel like family. It’s always cozy, friendly, and makes everyone feel wonderfully welcome. However, don’t confuse it with grandma’s house, because it’s also stylish and trendy, and filled with the most current cuisine.
Hats off to the skills of head chef Thomas Futrell for creating such an extraordinary menu, and delivering decadent dishes time after time. Try the shrimp and grits, and you’ll understand what all the fuss is about. Polite Society has great food, an attentive staff, and a creative cocktail selection. It’s the ideal place to celebrate a special evening.
Mac’s Local Eats
Owner Mac McKenzie is on a personal mission to educate customers on how to support “humanely raised, sustainable meat consumption.” Mac shows-off his no-frills café by providing good old-fashioned greasy bar food, without all the grease, and with remarkable ethics. Try the “Naked Pig,” a to-die-for sandwich made from tender and juicy pork tenderloin, or the griddle burger with homemade “Rip Fries.” Your tummy will thank you, and your taste buds will dance. Save some room for dessert though, because Mac has even more talents when it comes to tasty baked goods.
Enjoying an evening out at your favorite restaurant with family or friends is part of the American lifestyle.
